- 3 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. anise *
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Sift flour and baking powder.

2Mix eggs, milk, anise and vanilla.

3In a large bowl, mix all ingredients.

4Make three loaves and place on greased cookie sheet or large baking pan.

5Bake in 350° preheated oven for about 30 minutes.

6Remove from oven and cool for 10 minutes.

7Cut loaves in 1-inch slices and return to oven for toasting, about 10 minutes.
