  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 6 eggs (add one at a time)
  • 3 2/3 c. all-purpose flour, sifted 3 times
  • 1 c. sweet milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

    Cream together butter, Crisco and sugar.

    Add eggs, one at a time.

    Alternate flour and milk; add vanilla.

    Sugar and butter must be creamed a long time and flour must be sifted 3 times. Start in cold oven.

    Bake for 1 1/2 hours at 325°.

    For tube pan, bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
