- 1-1/2 cup White Cornmeal
- 1/2 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoons Baking Soda
- 1 whole Egg
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1/4 cups Cooking Oil
Directions

1Place cooking oil in cast iron skillet. Place skillet in cold oven. Heat oven to 450 degrees.

2Mix dry ingredients together. Add egg and buttermilk until the mixture is completely combined.

3Take the hot skillet out of the oven and spoon batter into the skillet - spread dough out evenly.

4Put the skillet back in the oven and cook for 20 minutes.

5Take skillet out of oven and flip cornbread out onto a plate for serving. You can serve it warm or let it cool.
