- 4 tablespoons gelatin, unflavored
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 2 1/4 cups applesauce unsweetened
- 2 cups nuts chopped
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4 cups sugar
- 1 x powdered sugar
Directions

1APLETS In cup or small bowl stir gelatin into 1 cup applesauce; set aside until gelatin dissolves.

2In medium saucepan stir sugar into remaining applesauce.

3Add gelatin dissolved in applesauce.

4Over medium heat, stir constantly and bring to boil; turn heat to lowest setting and simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

5Add lemon juice last 5 minutes of cooking.

6Remove from heat.

7Add vanilla and nuts.

8Pour into buttered 8-inch square pan.

9Cover loosely and let stand overnight.

10When firm, cut into 1 inch squares.

11Roll in confectioner's sugar.
