- 2 acorn or buttercup squash
- salt
- 2 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- 8 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- cinnamon
Directions

1Leave squash whole (pierce).

2Cook in microwave on High for 8 to 10 minutes or until they feel soft to the touch.

3Let stand 5 minutes.

4Cut in half and remove seeds.

5Place, cut side up, in shallow baking dish.

6Sprinkle with salt.

7Fill with apples. Top each half with 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 tablespoon butter and a dash of cinnamon. Cook, covered, with waxed paper 4 to 5 minutes on High or until apples are tender.

8If desired, add 1 tablespoon raisins with apples to each squash half.
