- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 2 c. flour
- 1 c. finely chopped apples (do not peel)
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 c. nuts
Directions

1Cream shortening; add sugar and cream until light and fluffy. Add salt, vanilla and eggs; beat well.

2Add milk, apples and nuts. Mix well.

3Add flour and baking powder which have been sifted together.

4Blend.

5Pour batter into well-greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.

6Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes.

7Cool.

8Remove from pan. Pour glaze over bread, letting it drip down the sides.
