- 5 lb. Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 3 c. water
- 3 c. sugar
- 3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 (1 3/4 oz.) box powdered pectin
- 1 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
Directions

1Combine apples and water in a large Dutch oven.

2Bring to a boil.

3Reduce heat and cook 20 to 25 minutes or until tender. Mash.

4Stir in remaining ingredients.

5Bring to a boil; cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

6Quickly pour into hot jars, filling to 1/4-inch from top; wipe jar rims.

7Cover at once with metal lids and screw on bands.

8Process in boiling water bath for 5 minutes.

9Yields 6 pints.
