  • 1 9-inch deep dish pie crust
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tbsp cold butter cut into small cubes
  • 5 cup sliced, peeled apples (Granny Smith)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cup fat-free buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

    Preheat oven to 325F.

    To prepare streusel, combine flour, brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, cut in butter with a pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse meal.

    Store in refrigerator until ready for use.

    For filling: heat a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray over medium heat.
