Apple-Carrot Bake

Ingredients
- 1 lb. carrots, scraped and sliced diagonally
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 4 medium cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine, divided
- 3/4 c. orange juice
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
Directions

1Combine carrots and 1/2 cup water in saucepan.

2Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes or until crisp-tender.

3Drain carrots and set aside.

4Combine sugar and flour; set aside.

5Layer half each of carrots and apples in a lightly greased, shallow 2-quart baking dish; sprinkle with half of flour mixture and dot with 2 tablespoons butter.

6Repeat procedure.

7Drizzle with orange juice and ginger, mixed together. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

8Toss before serving.
