- pastry for double crust 9-inch pie
- 1 c. apple cider
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 6 1/2 c. cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp. butter
Directions

1Roll half of pastry to 1/8-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.

2Place in pie plate and set aside.

3Combine cider and sugar in a large saucepan; bring to a boil.

4Add apples; cook, uncovered, 8 minutes or until apples are tender.

5Drain, reserving syrup.

6Add enough water to syrup to measure 1 1/3 cups liquid; return syrup mixture and apples to saucepan.
