- 1 cup flour
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 12 teaspoon baking soda
- 12 teaspoon cinnamon
- 12 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup uncooked oats
- 12 cup shortening
- 4 medium apples
Directions

1Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

2Put the flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, brown sugar, and oats in the mixing bowl.

3Stir together.

4Add the shortening to the bowl.

5Use the 2 table knives to mix the ingredients and cut them into crumbs.

6Lightly grease the bottom and sides of the baking dish with a little bit of shortening.

7Spread half of the crumb mixture in the greased baking dish.

8Remove the core from the apples and slice them.

9Put the apple slices into the baking dish.

10Top the apples with the rest of the crumb mixture.

11Bake in the oven for 40 45 minutes.

12Cut into squares.

13It will fall apart easily.

14Notes: You can use applesauce (16 ounces) or canned apples in place of fresh apples.

15You can use either peeled or unpeeled apples.
