- 1/2 c. butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. water
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1/3 c. milk
- 2 c. chopped apples
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°, melt butter in pan.

2Heat sugar and water until sugar melts.

3Cut shortening into flour until particles are like fine crumbs.

4Add milk and stir with fork only until flour leaves side of bowl.

5Turn out on board and knead until smooth. Roll out into rectangle 1/4 inch thick.

6Sprinkle cinnamon on apples.

7Spread apples on dough.

8Roll up like jelly roll.

9Slice dough 1/2 inch thick and put in melted butter in pan.

10Pour sugared water over that and bake 50 to 60 minutes.
