- 8 c. apples, peeled and sliced
- 6 oz. can apple cider
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 3 Tbsp. milk
- sugar
- 4 tsp. lemon juice
- 1 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 egg, beaten
Directions

1Combine apples, 2/3 cup sugar, 1/4 cup cider and lemon juice in a 10 to 12-inch Dutch oven.

2Cook, stirring until boiling. Reduce heat.

3Simmer uncovered, 3 minutes or until apples are almost tender, stirring occasionally.

4Stir together remaining cider and cornstarch.

5Add to apple mixture.

6Cook, stirring until thickened and bubbly.

7Keep warm.

8Combine flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder and cinnamon.

9Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Combine egg and milk and add to flour mixture, stirring just to moisten.

10Drop into 12 mounds on top of hot apple mixture.

11Bake at 400° for 20 to 25 minutes.

12Serve warm with ice cream.
