- 4 c. sliced, pared tart apples
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. granulated or brown sugar, packed
- 6 Tbsp. flour
- 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Place apple slices in ungreased 1 3/4-cup casserole.

3Sprinkle water, lemon juice and cinnamon on apples. Mix remaining ingredients until crumbly; sprinkle on apples. Bake, uncovered, until apples are tender and topping is golden brown, about 30 minutes.

4Serve warm.

5Top with light cream or ice cream, if you like.
