- 4 c. tart apples
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/2 tsp. salt (if butter, unsalted)
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375°.

2Peel, core and slice apples into a 9-inch pie pan or dish.

3Coat apples with lemon juice.

4Work like pastry with a pastry blender or with the fingertips:

5flour, brown sugar, butter, salt and cinnamon.

6Mixture must be lightly worked so that it does not become oily.

7Spread crumbly mixture over the apples.

8Bake for about 30 minutes.

9Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
