- 4 c. sliced, pared tart apples (Jonathan medium)
- 3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 c. oats
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg (optional)
- 1/3 c. butter or margarine, softened
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375°.

2Grease an 8 x 8 x 2-inch square pan. Place apples in bottom of pan.

3Mix remaining ingredients thoroughly.

4Put on top of apples.

5Bake 30 minutes until tender and topping is golden brown.

6Serve warm with ice cream.
