  • 4 c. sliced baking apples (approximately 4 medium)
  • 2/3 to 3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 c. sifted flour (plain)
  • 1/2 c. rolled oats
  • 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/3 c. soft butter
  • 1/3 c. water

Directions

    Place apples in greased 8-inch square pan.

    Blend until crumbly, the brown sugar, sifted flour, rolled oats, cinnamon, nutmeg and soft butter.

    Spread over apples.

    Bake at 375° for 35 minutes, until apples are tender and topping is golden brown. Serve warm with cream, ice cream or hard sauce.
