- 5 cooking apples
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. to 1 Tbsp. lemon juice (depending on tartness of apples)
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1/2 c. butter
Directions

1Peel and slice apples in a buttered 9-inch square pan. Sprinkle spices, lemon juice and water.

2Mix sugar and flour in bowl; work in butter until mixture is crumbly.

3Spread over fruit. Bake uncovered in preheated oven at 350° for about an hour or until fruit is tender and mixture is slightly browned.

4Serve warm with whipped cream.
