- 3 c. sliced apples (about 6 medium)
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. grated lemon rind
- 2 tsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/3 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
Directions

1Wash apples; core and pare thinly.

2Place in shallow baking dish.

3Mix sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and lemon rind. Sprinkle over apples and add lemon juice.

4Mix flour, sugar and salt with a pastry blender or fork.

5Mix butter or margarine with dry ingredients and sprinkle over top apple mixture.

6Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is slightly browned.
