  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 3 1/2 c. thinly sliced apples
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Make dough with flour, shortening and milk.

    Refrigerate to chill.

    Heat sugar, margarine, vanilla and water until mixture boils; pour into large baking dish.

    Roll out dough on floured surface; sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.

    Place apples on dough; roll up like jelly roll.

    Slice and place in hot liquid. Bake in a 300° oven for 20 to 30 minutes, or until apples are tender and crust is brown.
