- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 stick margarine
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. water
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 3 1/2 c. thinly sliced apples
- 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Make dough with flour, shortening and milk.

2Refrigerate to chill.

3Heat sugar, margarine, vanilla and water until mixture boils; pour into large baking dish.

4Roll out dough on floured surface; sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.

5Place apples on dough; roll up like jelly roll.

6Slice and place in hot liquid. Bake in a 300° oven for 20 to 30 minutes, or until apples are tender and crust is brown.
