Apple Crumb Pie

  • 4 large tart apples
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. butter (oleo)
  • 1 frozen pie shell (9-inch)
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3/4 c. flour

Directions

    Pare apples (Pippin is good).

    Cut in 1/8-inch pieces and arrange in an unbaked pie shell.

    Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon.

    Sift remaining sugar with flour; cut in butter or oleo until crumbly.

    Sprinkle over apples.

    Bake in a hot oven at 450° for 10 minutes, then in a moderate oven at 350° for about 40 minutes or until apples are tender.
