- 4 medium-size cooking apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
- Ground cinnamon
- Whipping cream (optional)
Directions

1Place apples in a greased 2- quart casserole; set aside.

2Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a small mixing bowl. Stir in egg to form a crumb mixture; sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over apples. Pour melted butter over top, and sprinkle with ground cinnamon.

3Bake at 350° for 35 minutes. Spoon into individual serving bowls, and serve hot with whipping cream, if desired.
