- 6 medium apples
- 12 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 34 cup rolled oats
- 3 tablespoons toasted wheat germ
- 3 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350F.

2Coat a 12 x 8 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.

3Cut apples in half lengthwise.

4Remove the cores and stems and discard.

5Cut the apples into thin slices.

6Place the apples and applesauce in the prepared baking dish.

7Toss to coat the apples evenly with the applesauce.

8Spread out evenly in the baking dish.

9In a small bowl, mix the oats, brown sugar, wheat germ and cinnamon.

10Drizzle with the oil.

11Add the butter.

12Mix with your fingers to work the oil and butter into the dry ingredients.

13Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples.

14Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until topping is golden and apples are bubbling.
