  • 6 or more baking apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp. butter

Directions

    Arrange apples in shallow 9 x 13-inch baking pan.

    Sweeten to taste, using the brown sugar.

    Sprinkle with cinnamon and dot with butter.

    Combine flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.

    Add beaten egg and mix with a fork until crumbly.

    Pour over apples and shake so mixture will settle through and down.

    Bake at 350° for 35 minutes or until apples are tender and top is brown.
