  • 2 cups apples thinly sliced, pared
  • 2 tablespoons nuts chopped

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk to 3 t milk

    Heat oven to 400F (200C) F.

    Grease 9 x 9 square pan.

    Mix baking mix, milk, sugar and egg; beat vigorously 30 seconds.

    Spread half of the batter in pan.

    Arrange apple slices on batter; sprinkle with half of the topping.

    Spread remaining batter over apple slices; sprinkle with remaining topping.

    Sprinkle with nuts.

    Bake about 25 minutes, cool.
