Apple Dumplings

- 1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 1/4 c. boiling water
- 3/4 c. sugar
- water
- 2 c. chopped apples
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- sugar to taste
Directions

1Beat Crisco and 1/4 cup boiling water.

2Add flour and mix. Cool.

3Divide dough in 4 balls.

4Roll out to fill with apples. Combine 3/4 cup sugar with 1/2 kettle full water.

5Simmer (a lite syrup).

6Combine apples, cinnamon and sweeten to taste.

7Mix well. Put apples on rolled out dough.

8Roll and make sure the apple ball is closed good.

9Drop in syrup and cook very slow (simmer) one or two at a time.

10Repeat until all are cooked and are nice and brown. These are great plain or with vanilla ice cream of milk.

11These can be baked in oven at 350° for 30 minutes.

12Cut back on syrup if baked.
