- 2 c. flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 4 Tbsp. lard
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 1/4 c. water
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp. butter
Directions

1Make a rich dough using flour, baking powder, lard and milk. Roll like a pie crust and cut into 6 equal parts.

2Boil water, sugar, cinnamon and butter together.

3Fill each piece of dough with quartered red apples (pared and cored), sugar and cinnamon. Pinch edges together and place in greased baking dish.

4Pour boiling mixture over dumpling.

5Bake until apples are tender in a 350° oven.
