Apple Dumplings

  • 1 2/3 c. sugar
  • 2 c. water
  • 1/3 c. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 standard pie dough
  • 4 to 5 large apples, peeled and sliced

Directions

    Combine the first 4 ingredients in a pan and boil for 5 minutes.

    Roll out pie dough and cut into 4 squares.
  3. 3
    Put apples in center of each and sprinkle with a little sugar and cinnamon. Fold up, seal and lay upside down in greased pan.

    Pour warm mixture over the dumplings.

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour, until tops are brown.
