Apple Dumplings

- 1 2/3 c. sugar
- 2 c. water
- 1/3 c. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 standard pie dough
- 4 to 5 large apples, peeled and sliced
Directions

1Combine the first 4 ingredients in a pan and boil for 5 minutes.

2Roll out pie dough and cut into 4 squares.

3Put apples in center of each and sprinkle with a little sugar and cinnamon. Fold up, seal and lay upside down in greased pan.

4Pour warm mixture over the dumplings.

5Bake at 350° for 1 hour, until tops are brown.
