- pastry for 9-inch two crust pie
- 6 baking apples, pared and cored
- 3 Tbsp. raisins
- 3 Tbsp. chopped nuts
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. water
Directions

1Prepare pastry; roll 2/3 dough into 14-inch square roll, remaining dough into 14 x 7-inch rectangle.

2Cut into 2 squares. Place an apple on each square.

3Mix raisins and nuts; fill center of each apple.

4Moisten corners of square; bring 2 opposite corners of pastry up over apple and press together.

5Fold in sides of remaining corners.

6Bring corners up over apple and press together.

7Place dumplings in ungreased baking dish.

8Heat brown sugar and water to boiling.

9Pour around dumplings.
-
10Bake for about 40 minutes at 425°.

11Serves 6.
