Apple Dumplings

- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 2/3 c. Crisco
- 10 Tbsp. water
- apples
- 1 stick oleo, cut into pats
- sugar, 1/4 c. for each dumpling
- brown sugar, 1 Tbsp. for each dumpling
- cinnamon to sprinkle on each
Directions

1Work Crisco into flour until texture of corn meal.

2Add water; stir with a fork and then, very lightly, work with hands, like for pie dough.

3Peel and core apples.

4Put a pat of oleo in core hole. Pinch off a piece of dough and roll out into a square large enough to cover apple.

5Put apple on top; sprinkle with sugars and cinnamon.

6Then, corner to corner, pinch together and seal.

7Place on a cookie sheet.

8Repeat with remaining dough.

9Bake at 425° for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350° for 45 minutes.
