Apple Nut Cake

  • 1 1/4 c. Wesson oil
  • 2 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 c. chopped walnuts
  • 3 c. chopped apples (peel apples; use Winesap)

Directions

    Blend oil and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla, flour, salt, baking soda, nutmeg and cinnamon after sifting. Add apples and nuts.

    Bake in well-greased and floured 10-inch tube pan at 325° for about 1 hour and 45 minutes.

    (Check cake after 1 1/2 hours.)
