- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. granulated sugar
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. peeled, cored, chopped tart apples
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Beat egg with electric beater until light and lemon colored.

3Gradually beat in sugar.

4Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

5Fold into the egg mixture.

6Stir in apples, walnuts and vanilla.

7Butter the inside of an 8 x 8-inch pan and pour in batter.

8Bake 35 to 40 minutes.

9Serve with sweetened whipped cream.
