Apple Pecan Pie

- 4 Tbsp. butter, softened
- 1/2 c. pecan halves
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- pie crust
- 5 large apples
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Directions

1In a 9-inch pie pan, spread butter on bottom and sides.

2Press pecan halves, rounded sides down, into butter.

3Put brown sugar evenly over pecans.

4Roll out enough pastry for lower crust. Place in pie plate over brown sugar and pecans.

5Pare and slice apples.

6Sprinkle apples with lemon juice. Combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and dash of salt; toss with apples.

7Put apples in pie pan.

8Roll out top crust and put over pie.

9Pinch edges. Prick top of pie with fork.

10Bake at 400° for 50 minutes.

11Remove from oven.

12Cool 5 minutes; invert and remove pie pan carefully. Serve warm or cool.
