  • 5 c. thinly sliced apples
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Minute tapioca
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or oleo

    Combine all ingredients except butter.

    Let stand about 15 minutes.

    Pour into pastry lined 9-inch pie pan.

    Dot with butter. Add top crust.

    Seal and flute edges.

    Cut and open slits in top crust.

    Bake at 425° until syrup boils with heavy bubbles that do not burst, 45 to 55 minutes.
