  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1 1/2 c. cooking apples, peeled and chopped

    Melt butter or margarine.

    Combine salt, sugar and cinnamon. Add to melted butter.

    Mix well.

    Add egg and apples.

    Blend well. Pour into unbaked 9-inch pie shell.

    Cover with lattice pastry top.

    Bake 10 minutes in 400° oven.

    Reduce heat to 350°. Continue baking until crust is golden brown and apples are tender, approximately 30 minutes.
