  • 1 crust pastry (double recipe)
  • 6 medium apples, pared, cored and sliced
  • 3 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. dark Karo corn syrup

Directions

    Roll out bottom crust and fit into 9-inch pie plate.

    Arrange apples slices in pastry shell.

    Cover with top.

    Make hole in center of pastry shell top, large enough for funnel.

    Bake in 400° oven 30 minutes or until crust is golden.

    Remove from oven.

    In small saucepan, mix together margarine, cornstarch, cinnamon, salt and dark corn syrup.

    Bring to a boil, boil 5 minutes.

    Place funnel in hole in center of pie.

    Pour corn syrup mixture through funnel, tilting pie so that mixture is evenly distributed.

    Cool.
