  • 6 or more c. tart apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • cinnamon to taste
  • nutmeg to taste
  • ginger to taste
  • allspice to taste
  • 1 pie crust, unbaked
  • 3/4 c. butter, softened
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar

Directions

    Toss the apples in a mixture of the sugar and spices and fold into the pie crust.

    Top with a mixture of butter, flour and brown sugar.

    Place the pie in a 450° oven for 10 minutes.

    Then reduce the heat to 325° and bake for another 30 to 40 minutes.
