- 4 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 3 c. cooked rice
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar, divided
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 6 Tbsp. butter or oleo
- 1/2 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped
Directions

1Combine apples, rice, lemon juice, 1/4 cup brown sugar, cinnamon and salt in large bowl.

2Spoon into 9 x 13 x 2-inch baking dish.

3Mix flour and remaining brown sugar, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.

4Stir in nuts and sprinkle over apple/rice mixture. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm, plain or topped with ice cream.
