Apple Sage Stuffing

  • 4 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Celery, Sliced Then Chopped Into Small Pieces
  • 1 cup Chopped Red Bell Pepper
  • 2 cups Cubed Honey Crisp Apples
  • 1 teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Sage, Finely Chopped (dry Sage Works Too!)
  • 10 ounces, weight Stuffing Mix

    To make in the oven (browned and crispier bread toppings!):

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly spray an oven safe baking dish and set aside.

    In a large casserole, melt butter. Add celery, bell pepper and apples. Season with salt and pepper and saute for about 5 minutes. Add chicken broth and sage, stir to combine.

    Remove from heat, add stuffing mix and gently fold to combine. Transfer to the baking dish and bake for 15 minutes.

    To make on the stovetop:

    In a large casserole, melt butter. Add celery, bell pepper and apples. Season with salt and pepper and saute for about 5 minutes. Add chicken broth, sage and stuffing mix. Fold to combine. Turn heat to medium low, cover an cook for 13-15 minutes or until preferred doneness.
