- 1 c. sugar
- 2 c. diced apples (McIntosh)
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch pan.

2Sprinkle sugar over apples; set aside.

3In a bowl, beat the egg.

4Add oil, flour, soda, cinnamon and salt (sift flour and spices).

5Blend oil and egg into apples.

6Add flour mixture all at once.

7Beat with wooden spoon until well blended.

8Pour into greased and floured pan. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.

9Leave in pan.

10When cool, sprinkle with 4x sugar.

11Cut into 24 squares.
