- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 2 medium apples (unpeeled), sliced 1/4 inch thick
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose baking flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Melt the 2 tablespoons butter in a 9 x 9 x 2-inch square baking pan.

2Sprinkle the 1/2 cup brown sugar over the butter, then sprinkle the nuts over that.

3Arrange thin slices of unpeeled apples in rows over the sugar, butter and nuts.

4Sprinkle with lemon juice and set aside.
