  • 6 c. McIntosh apples, cored and sliced (approximately 4 large)
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 c. heavy or lite cream (1/2 pt.)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch fluted deep dish pie shell

Directions

    In a bowl, mix apples, 3/4 cup sugar, flour and cinnamon. Arrange apple slices in circles in the pie shell.

    In a small bowl, beat eggs, cream, vanilla and 1/4 cup sugar until well blended.

    Pour mixture evenly over top of apples.

    Bake in a preheated oven at 375° for 40 minutes, covered with a piece of aluminum foil.

    Remove foil and continue baking another 30 minutes or until golden brown.

    Serve slightly warm.
