  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 c. applesauce
  • 3 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 2 c. raisins

    Mix in order given, except mix soda with applesauce.

    Fold in nuts and raisins after batter is well mixed.

    Bake in angel food pan for 1 1/2 to 2 hours at 250° to 300°.

    Cake is done when a straw comes out clean.
