  • 1/2 c. soft butter
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. applesauce
  • 1/2 c. nuts
  • 1 c. chopped dates
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Cream butter, sugar and eggs together until fluffy.

    Sift dry ingredients; add dates and nuts.

    Add alternately with applesauce to butter and sugar mixture.

    Mix thoroughly and pour into well greased 9-inch tube pan and bake at 225° for 1 hour.
