  • 3/4 c. butter (1 1/2 sticks)
  • 3 c. white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cans applesauce
  • 4 level tsp. soda
  • 4 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1 1/2 c. nuts or more, floured

Directions

    Beat butter and sugar together real well.
  2. 2
    Add the eggs; beat. Dissolve the soda in the applesauce.
  3. 3
    Add flour, spices, raisins and floured nuts.
  4. 4
    Bake for 1 1/2 hours in a 325° oven.
