  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 c. flour
  • 2 3/4 c. applesauce
  • 3 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 tsp. ground cloves
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. melted shortening
  • 1 box seedless raisins
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Mix sugar and flour together in a large bowl.

    Mix applesauce, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, baking soda and shortening together in another large bowl.

    Combine the sugar mixture and applesauce mixture.

    Add raisins and chopped nuts.

    Put the mixed ingredients into a greased angel food cake pan.

    Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350°.
