  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. Wesson Oil
  • 2 c. applesauce
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 3 Tbsp. hot water
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 lb. seedless raisins
  • 1 c. walnuts
  • 3 c. sifted flour

Directions

  1. 1
    Cream sugar with oil and applesauce. Stir soda into hot water, then add cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and eggs. After blending add raisins, walnuts and flour. Pour into well greased and floured cake mold and bake at 350° until done (approximately 1 hour 20 minutes).
