- 1 c. butter
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 small jar apricot jam
- 4 egg whites, beaten stiff
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream together the butter and 1/2 cup sugar.

2Add the egg yolk, flour and salt.

3Grease a 14 x 10-inch pan well.

4Pat batter on pan.

5Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.

6Remove; spread the apricot jam on top.

7Have the egg whites beaten stiff with 1 cup sugar and the vanilla mixed in them.

8Spread on top of jam; bake for 20 minutes.

9Cut in bars while hot.
