- 36 cucumber pickles (5-inch long)
- 1 gal. water
- 1 c. salt
- 1 Tbsp. alum
- 1 Tbsp. ginger
- 3 lb. white sugar
- 1 gal. vinegar
- 1 pt. water (or more)
- 1 spice bag with 1 Tbsp. celery salt, 1 Tbsp. whole cloves, 1 tsp. salt and 2 sticks cinnamon
Directions

1Slice cucumbers thin.

2Make cool brine of water and salt. Pour over cucumbers and let stand 1 week.

3Stir every morning. Drain pickles and cover with cold water (just to cover) mixed with alum.

4Simmer 10 minutes, then drain.
