  • 5 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 5 sticks margarine, softened
  • 6 egg yolks, beaten
  • 1 cake yeast or 4 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 qt. milk (lukewarm)
  • Filling (recipe follows)

Directions

    Crumble yeast in 1/2 cup warm milk.

    Add 1 tablespoon sugar. Set aside in a warm place to rise, about 1/2 hour.

    Sift flour. Mix in yeast, milk and sugar mixture.

    Mix in dry ingredients, margarine, egg yolks and enough warm milk to make a soft dough that doesn't stick.
